EGFR is the receptor for members of the EGF family and is a transmembrane glycoprotein that has tyrosine kinase activity. EGFR A763_Y764insFQEA results in the insertion of four amino acids in the C-helix region of the Egfr protein between amino acids 763 and 764 (PMID: 24353160). A763_Y764insFQEA confers a gain of function to Egfr, as indicated by increased kinase activity and is transforming in cell culture (PMID: 24353160, PMID: 29533785). | |
